Stand Up for Lomita

Measure LW establishes a 1/4-cent local sales tax. The key question is who controls how those funds are used.

Without local action, these dollars could be directed outside Lomita. Measure LW keeps them here.

Your Vote’s Impact

YES

A YES vote authorizes a 1/4-cent local sales tax for general city services, with revenue locally controlled by Lomita.

NO

A NO vote does not authorize the tax, and the City would not receive this additional local revenue.

About Measure LW

This is a 0.25% or 1/4-cent local sales tax, which equals 25 cents per $100 purchased locally.

It is estimated to generate about $650,000 annually and stays until ended by Lomita voters.

The measure requires a 50% + 1 majority approval of the voters to be enacted in our city.

Measure LW is a general tax, meaning funds go into the City’s general fund and may be used for any lawful City service.

Securing Lomita

Without local action, L.A. County could claim this revenue and use it elsewhere. Measure LW keeps taxpayer dollars local for the benefit of Lomita residents and businesses.

Why Now: City water and sewer pipes, some up to 90 years old, have been identified as at risk of failure if not upgraded. The City has declared a fiscal emergency because the cost of upgrading aging infrastructure could drain reserves.
